Backstage with Laura Geller New York

I’ve always been a fan of Laura Geller Make-Up having tried her ‘Spackle’ (primer) back in about 2010. It’s a pretty hard brand to get hold of in the UK, so i’ve only ever bought it off QVC - I’m all for buying product online, but with make-up I like to actually try the product out in store if i’m buying foundations/concealers etc. as my skin is so pale I find colour matching a real issue.

Last weekend I was lucky enough to be invited to the Laura Geller launch at House of Fraser on Oxford Street for a Carnival Spectacular and to meet the make-up artists.

I was the first to arrive for the 2pm showing, where I was greeted with a glass of prosecco (which was very welcomed as I'd just tottered over from Knightsbridge in heels) and had a look around all the latest products that were on display before the place started to fill up.

Laura Geller Pro Make-Up artist Marissa then demonstrated to us some of her favourite products from the range on one of the carnival dancers. Marisa also explained a little about Laura Geller, and how she was a make-up artist on Broadway which inspired her to create her own line of beauty products and launched them on QVC.

My favourite products were: the eyebrow pen; 3 prongs to really give the effect of individual hairs, the baked gelato swirl blushes and the nourishing lipsticks which contained coconut and vitamin E - I have such dry lips so I think this product would work wonders for me.

We then went down to the shop floor to the beauty area and tried out some of the beauty products for ourselves - I had my make-up fully done by Marissa so that I could discover if the shades worked for my skintone, and much to my surprise they did! The concealers actually come up really light compared to most other brands that I’ve tried.

And then the show began… my photos came out a little blurry, but check out my snapchat for videos liz.holiday
