ICELANDAIR HOTEL REYKJAVIK MARINA REVIEW

The Location: Icelandair Hotel Reykjavic Marina, is, as you'd expect, located in Reykjavic's Marina - a very central location just a 5 minute stroll from the main square and tourist office. The hotel itself from the outside, isn't anything extraordinary to look at - with some areas having a facelift at the moment. But, WOW those views.

The Room: The interior of the Hotel was quirky, and each room had personality. We were staying in a  double, with the decor being very on theme for the hotels location. The bed was very comfy, and in true Icelandic tradition, came complete with 2 single quilts.

The bathroom had an awesome shower, and the hotel provided shampoo and hand wash was of really great quality, with traditional Icelandic herbs. I'm pretty fussy with what shampoo I use - being a blogger, and a blonde!

Hand carved wooden statues adorn the hotel, with one standing in the toilet foyer looking at himself in the mirror whilst using a urinal.

The Breakfast: Oh the delicious breakfast... I'm not normally a morning person, but having read up on the hotel before I visited I knew I had to get up and try the food, and I'm so glad that I did.

The breakfast buffet is from 7-10, and as far as buffets go... it was pretty healthy. We had the option of healthy cereal, fresh and dried fruits, meats and bread, salon and fresh pesto... I'm not a hot breakfast person, but the fried bacon and potatoes also looked great!
Breakfast was so good, that I got up on time everyday (even when nursing the mother of all hangovers) to enjoy it.

Tip: try the cocktails (not for breakfast), Hotel Marina gets pretty lively in the evenings, with a lot of locals coming to the bar. I had the Retro cocktail - Gin Americano, fermented pineapple, grapefruit, lemon and dry Curacao.
