Just a short walk from Green Park tube, you'll reach The Washington Mayfair Hotel in which is Madisons restaurant.
We arrived for a very early dinner (6.30) so the restaurant was empty bar us, as such we had the full attention of the waiter and the barman. Though I am not drinking at the moment, so I didn't sample any of the delicious sounding cocktails.
To start, I ordered grilled asparagus with a dusting of parmesan, a mixed salad, and a drizzle of balsamic. The asparagus was nice and crisp, and the parmesan was the perfect accompaniment to the peppery rocket.
For main I had the oven cooked chicken supreme with herbed potato and shallot thyme jus. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and I really enjoyed the potato - not what I was expecting at all, but very tasty. The shallot and thyme jus was spectacular, but a little extra would have been great to go with the rather large portion of potato and chicken.
I didn't order dessert, as I was so full from the start and main. Oh, and before the starter came out, fresh seeded rolls were served (and of course I had one).
Lovely food, I don't feel as though I can comment on the ambience as I had such an early dinner before the restaurant filled out. However, the staff were very friendly - and with the use of a tastecard an extremely reasonably priced meal. I had two soft drinks, a starter and a main - plus left a generous tip, all for £22.
