MOVIE NIGHT IN WITH PLUSNET AND BFI

PlusNet and the BFI have teamed up to to promote their blockbuster 'Love’ season, which sees the BFI showing classic love films across the country.

I was sent all the essentials for a move night in including facemasks and popcorn, as well as an account for the BFI player, everything required to watch a classic love film!

Andersen Boutique Hotel Copenhagen Review

Andersen Boutique Hotel, Copenhagen is located on Vesterbro in the heart of Copenhagen, a short walk from the central station, close to the city centre, metro, parks, shopping and a vast array of restaurants.

Upon arrival at the hotel, I was greeted with the offer of a glass of wine as I checked-in. It turns out that this hotel runs 'Wine Hour' - free wine for guests between the hours of 5 and 6 every evening.

Last Friday I met up with some old school friends for dinner - we hadn’t booked a restaurant, so after a little bit of last minute online research I suggested ‘Made in Brasil’ in Camden.

long blonde hair problems - tame the mane

Wow you have such thick hair, you're so lucky!

I do love having thick hair, it's just quite a lot of maintenance, washing/styling/haircare in general. I have very fine hair, but a lot of it, so I can quite easily end up with a big ball of tangled blonde hair that just makes me want to chop it all off! This month I've tried some new products to tame my mane.

Perkin Reveller Restaurant Review

London in Autumn can be truly beautiful. Walking along the river, just past the Tower of London is a little restaurant named Perkin Reveller. Rather understated from the outside, but with spectacular views I was expecting it to be quite over priced, I was however misinformed.

Backstage with Laura Geller New York

I’ve always been a fan of Laura Geller Make-Up having tried her ‘Spackle’ (primer) back in about 2010. It’s a pretty hard brand to get hold of in the UK, so i’ve only ever bought it off QVC - I’m all for buying product online, but with make-up I like to actually try the product out in store if i’m buying foundations/concealers etc. as my skin is so pale I find colour matching a real issue.

Last weekend I was lucky enough to be invited to the Laura Geller launch at House of Fraser on Oxford Street for a Carnival Spectacular and to meet the make-up artists.

Cauliflower Pizza

I've seen all the hype - so I thought I'd give it a go myself!

Verdict... tastes OK but you need a pretty good garlicy tomato sauce to mask the fact that it is califlower not dough.

Would I eat it again? Yes definitely - as long as I didn't have to make it. The process, and the cooking times were both loooooooooong, especially considering Pizza is usually the easy option for dinner with friends.

Holidays 2015

Where to next? I'm pretty excited to be going to Athens in a few weeks to see a really good friend of mine who moved over there to teach.

In November I have a mini-break booked to Copenhagen.

I hope to go back to Paris in December - this has become a bit of an annual trip. Eurostar seems to have deals on all the times these days!

So expect more holiday pictures and hotel reviews as I document my way through my next adventures.

The last few weeks have been pretty grim weather wise, constant showers and soggy shoes.

I was really excited to come home from work one day and find a parcel with my name on it and a big #EmergencyHappiness hashtag.

Le Coeurisier, Le Thor - Avignon, France

During my recent holiday in the South of France I stayed at Le Coeurisier. Le Coeurisier is in the little town of Le Thor, about 20 minute by train from Avignon. I stayed in the chamber d'Agathe, which is designed to accommodate 3 people, so was more than spacious for just the 2 of us. This eighteenth century farmhouse is exceptionally clean and spacious, and restored to the highest quality.

Experience in Luberon - Tour of Provence

A great way to get around in this heat is a guided tour, where you're driven around in an air conditioned car. The tour that I decided to go on was called 'Experience in Luberon' - and was priced at €90 per person, and with just 4 people on the tour it felt like great value for what was almost a private tour.

A weekend in riga, latvia

I spent the second bank holiday weekend in Riga, Latvia. Fantastic weather, beautiful architecture and such a rich history.

Top tip: go on the paid for walking tour (15 euro per person) it includes trying some of the local spirits, and the guides don't mind going a little 'off tour' to answer your questions. I took all of the below photos whilst on the walking tour.

Hotel Birger Jarl Stockholm Review | Travel Sweden

Last weekend I visited Stockholm for my (26th!) birthday. My Mother and I stayed in the Hotel Birger Jarl Stockholm - which is just a 20 minute walk from the Central Train Station.
Hotel Birger Jarl is a 4 star hotel offering a variety of accommodation, with 271 rooms ranging from single rooms for those on a budget, to suites and apartments. The pure scope of rooms available means this hotel is great to stay for business, leisure or I should imagine would be great for families if you’re booking an apartment.

Kew Lates - Late night at kew gardens

I went to Kew Lates with a few of the girls from work. Kew is actually on the District Line, so it’s pretty east to get to from anywhere in London.
Kew Gardens has hundreds and thousands of tropical flowers, and for just 3 nights a year Kew opens up its glasshouses for an evening of botanical cocktails, interactive workshops and scintillating talks on nature’s alluring colours, scents and shapes.

ICELANDAIR HOTEL REYKJAVIK MARINA REVIEW

The Location: Icelandair Hotel Reykjavic Marina, is, as you'd expect, located in Reykjavic's Marina - a very central location just a 5 minute stroll from the main square and tourist office. The hotel itself from the outside, isn't anything extraordinary to look at - with some areas having a facelift at the moment. But, WOW those views.

Marrakech Morocco | Maroc - By Rail

Marrakech, the tourist heart of Morocco! The last leg of the holiday :(

I have been to Marrakech before, so everything felt familiar. However, I stayed in a different part of the City this time, and in a tranquil Riad rather than in a bustling hostel.

There is so much to do in Morocco, definitely read up on TripAdvisor  - however, as I'd been before I spent much of my time here relaxing, drinking fresh juice, and slowly wondering through the Markets.

Casablanca Morocco | Maroc - By Rail

Another early start, and off to the station to catch the train to Casablanca. Train tickets in Morocco are really good value, so we booked first class. The difference between first class and standard being that in each cabin in standard class are 8 seats, and in first class you have 6. The train ride Fes to Casablanca was around 4 hours long, and the first class ticket cost around £12.

Casablanca's, for want of a better word, main attraction is The Hassan II Mosque or Grande Mosquée Hassan II Arabic: مسجد الحسن الثاني‎ nickname: "Casablanca Hajj".

Chefchaouen - The Beautiful Blue City of Morocco

Chefchaouen/ Chaouen (شفشاون/الشاون‎) is a Blue City in North-West Morocco, in the Rif Mountains, and is quite possibly the most magical place I have ever been.

Chefchaouen/ Chaouen (شفشاون/الشاون‎)

I had seen photos of the place on Instagram, and had to visit. I did my research, and booked a day excursion - it cost the equivalent of around £80 for the two of us, this included private car (driver, and petrol), and a tour guide upon arrival at the City.

Fes, Morocco | Fez, Maroc - By Rail

It's been a few years, but I'm back in beautiful Morocco - and this time I'm starting my trip in Fes (Fez). I decided to begin my journey in Fes for several reasons...
- Last time I was in Morocco, the locals of Marrakech told me to visit there
- The flights were very cheap, I guess it's not as much of a tourist go-to as Marrakech

Let’s go bananas!

It’s 2015, and I’m on the same health kick that I should imagine a good 50% of the country are on. Thus far I have:

- almost completed dry January (9 days to go!)
- joined the gym (and actually been)- had fruit and veg smoothies every morning for breakfast (I’ve been doing that since mid-November, definitely feeling more alert)
- cut down on the junk.

With the majority of my office being on a health kick, recipes have been shared and a great one I've picked up is banana ice-cream without as many of the bad calories.

Chop some bananas up, freeze them and blend. Et voila, ice-cream!! I had a little difficulty actually getting the frozen bananas to blitz/blend, so I added some yoghurt for moisture, and a dash of vanilla to enhance the flavour.

RITUALS Samurai Anti-Age Cream

I always struggle with what to get my Dad, my sisters always get him a jumper and shirt, so those ideas are always taken. This year I stuck to getting him grooming products.

Dad isn't exactly what you'd call metrosexual, he's your typical almost 60 type bloke. Thus I had to make sure what I got him wasn't too complicated! I decided on some Magnesium BetterYou Bath Flakes, and a bottle of RITUALS Samurai Anti-Aging Cream. I loved the packaging of the RITUALS moisturiser, with the wood effect lid.
